Privacy Policy
Effective date: September 22, 2026
Roomhackr LLC ("Roomhackr," "we," "us," or "our") provides the roomhackr mobile application, website, and related services (collectively, the "Services"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use and share it, and the choices available to you.
Information we collect
Information you provide
-
Account information: Your email address, password credentials, account identifier, and an optional first and last name. Authentication is provided by Supabase. We do not receive your password in readable form.
-
Room photos and other content: Photos or screenshots you choose to submit, style refinements, room names, detected-item information, Spaces, saved products, and other content you create in the app.
-
Support communications: Information you include when you contact us.
-
Website submissions: Information you enter on our website, such as a waitlist or contact form.
Information generated through the Services
When you analyze a room, we generate room descriptions, detected-item labels, search terms, product matches, and related results. We may retain this content with your account so you can access recent rooms, Spaces, and saved products.
Our service providers may automatically receive technical information needed to operate and secure the Services, such as IP address, request time, device or browser type, and error or security logs. The mobile app does not use the Apple advertising identifier and does not use your information to track you across apps or websites owned by other companies.
How we use information
We use information to:
-
create and secure your account;
-
analyze room photos and generate design and product-search results;
-
save and synchronize your rooms, Spaces, and products;
-
open relevant product pages and apply our Amazon Associates tag;
-
provide support and respond to requests;
-
maintain, troubleshoot, protect, and improve the Services;
-
comply with law and enforce our terms; and
-
communicate about material service or policy changes.
How room photos are handled
Before each analysis, the app identifies the service providers involved and asks whether you want to share that selected photo. If you agree, the app compresses the photo on your device and sends it over HTTPS to our authenticated analysis service. The photo is provided to OpenAI to generate the requested room analysis. Text search terms derived from the analysis, but not the room photo, are provided to SerpApi to find product matches. After a successful analysis, the compressed photo and analysis may be stored in your private, account-linked Roomhackr library so that you can revisit the room across signed-in devices.
Do not upload photos you do not have permission to use. Avoid submitting photos that contain people, confidential documents, precise location details, or other sensitive information that is not needed for room analysis.
When we share information
We do not sell personal information, and we do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. We disclose information only as needed for the following purposes:
-
Supabase: authentication, database, private storage, server functions, logging, and infrastructure;
-
OpenAI: AI-assisted analysis of the room photo and related prompts;
-
SerpApi: text product-search queries derived from an analysis and the resulting product information; SerpApi does not receive the room photo from Roomhackr;
-
Amazon: product pages and purchases that you choose to open or complete;
-
Wix: website hosting, forms, and website analytics or cookies configured on this site;
-
Apple: App Store distribution and services provided by iOS; and
-
Professional and legal recipients: advisors, authorities, or other parties when reasonably necessary to comply with law, protect rights and safety, or complete a business transaction.
Service providers may also process information under their own terms and privacy policies. Amazon controls purchases, payments, shipping, returns, and customer service for products purchased from Amazon.
Amazon Associates disclosure
Roomhackr participates in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program. If you follow an eligible Amazon link and make a qualifying purchase, Roomhackr may earn a commission at no additional cost to you.
Data retention
We retain account information and saved app content while your account is active and as reasonably needed to provide the Services. You may delete your account in the app under About > Account > Delete account. Account deletion removes the account-linked Roomhackr data handled by our deletion process, subject to limited retention required for security, legal compliance, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, and backup cycles.
OpenAI states that API data is not used to train its models by default. Under OpenAI's default abuse-monitoring controls, prompts and responses may be retained for up to 30 days; images flagged for child-safety review may be retained as required for that review and applicable law. Operational security logs, backups, support communications, and legally required records may remain for a limited period after account deletion. We retain those records only as long as reasonably necessary for the applicable purpose.
Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards, including encrypted network transport and account-based access controls. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Your choices and rights
You may:
-
review and update available account information in the Services;
-
delete saved rooms or products where the app provides that control;
-
delete your account in the app;
-
decline photo sharing before any analysis; because permission is requested for each analysis, declining prevents that selected photo from being sent;
-
decline camera or photo-library access in iOS Settings; and
-
contact us to request access, correction, deletion, or another privacy right available under applicable law.
We may need to verify your identity before completing a privacy request. You may also have a right to appeal a decision or complain to your local data protection authority, depending on where you live.
International processing
Roomhackr and its service providers may process information in the United States and other countries. Where required, we use legally recognized transfer mechanisms and safeguards.
Children's privacy
The Services are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided information to us, contact us so we can investigate and delete it as appropriate.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy. We will post the revised version with a new effective date and provide additional notice when required by law.
